Mikala Rahn, Executive Director of Learning Works, recently earned a Safeco Community Hero Award and a $5,000 donation. Learning Works, part of Public Works non-profit in Pasadena, offers disengaged youth the opportunity to earn a high-school education along with counseling and mental health resources.
